| |
Part of the 30 km
coastline stretch of Northern Beaches of Goa that covers the most popular
hotspots of Goa and India tourism. |
| |
This fishing village beach of Goa is the northern end of Calangute beach,
south of Anjuna, the party beach of Goa. Compared to Calangute, it has
more character, with its scenic beauty enhanced by the creek and the Retreat
House perched on the hill. The lack of local tourist buses also contributes
to its enjoybility. It's popular with western tourists who love to use
it as a base for water-sports and fishing in the area. The Goa
Sun Village, one of the most popular hotel resorts of Goa contributes
to the water sports facilities that they organize for their Goa holiday
package residents. Non-residents can also utilize these. |
| |
Though this Goa beach is cleaner than its southern cousin, but at high
tide the beach strip becomes very narrow, sandwiched-in by the shacks
and fishing boats. |
| |
Pleasant walks can be enjoyed to Anjuna, the party capital of Goa tourism
across the beautiful estuary; and beyond it to the laid-back beaches of
Vagator and Chapora. |
| |
Goa Sun Village has some exciting choices. An interesting mix of restaurants serves-up both exotic and traditional dishes. Club Tito's, on the
beach is one of the landmark nightclubs of Goa tourism. It also includes
a good restaurant. |
| |
An Anjuna style "Hippie Market" specializing in ethnic goods happens
on Saturday evenings. Overall, Baga is one northern beach of Goa that
can serve up an interesting blend for your Goa holiday experience. |

Nilaya Hermitage is gorgeous,
exclusive Goa resort, 3 km inland in secluded woodland overlooking the
headland of Baga. The all-inclusive Goa Sun Village is one of the most
popular deluxe Goa hotel resorts. Many budget options with good facilities
are also available here. For instance, Villa Fatima is an excellent 'good
& cheap' Goa hotel, perfect for backpackers; Baga Queen Beach Resort
is right on this interesting Goa beach. |
