| Anjuna Beach, Goa |

| |
18 km north of Panaji.
Part of the 30 km coastline stretch of Northern Beaches of Goa that covers
the most popular hotspots of Goa and India tourism. |
| |
This is the party beach of Goa, and also the most visited. The
beach itself is just about ok, but the backdrop and more importantly,
the interesting group of pleasure seekers is what makes it perhaps the
most charming beach of Goa. The village of Anjuna is a five square mile
area nestling between the Arabian Sea and the hill overlooking the palm-fringed
beach. Unusual black rock formations overlay a cove of white sand, jutting
into the Sea. |
| |
It attracts an eclectic bunch of tourists always creating interesting
ways to liven up their Goa holiday and India experience. During the day
there's constant flow of two wheelers with day-trippers. Hippies, artists,
the eccentric, those seeking lubricious or simple pleasures, or those
just seeking themselves; they're all attracted here. During season, and
beyond it this party beach of Goa lives upto its name with music and carnivorous
revelry that raves on till early mornings. Moonlit nights are favorites
to bring out the party animals, and parties dot the Goa beach-line here,
all the way to Vagator. Most travelers feel that their Goa travel is incomplete
without attending atleast one of these delightful Goa beach parties. |
| |
Anjuna is also well known as place with the largest number of long-term
house-renters. And one of the most interesting places in one of the most
stimulating beaches of Goa is the small, sheltered sliver of sand at South
Anjuna where those on an extended Goa holiday gather regularly. |
| |
Anjuna is also famous for the Wednesday flea market, a landmark tradition
of Goa tourism. The market has its origins in foreigners on a Goa holiday
selling their possessions to get money to carry on their travel in Goa
or India, or to get back home. Now its metamorphosed into much more, an
extremely popular market for a wide melange of products & services;
ethnic stuff, handicrafts, clothes, henna tattoos, haircuts, et al. Sometimes
it's so crowded that it seems that everybody on a Goa holiday has congregated
here. |
| |
The exhilaration of Bungee Jumping from an 80-ft tower and water-sports
facilities like paragliding and windsurfing enhance the fun of your Goa
holiday trip at Anjuna experience. |
| |
Quite naturally, Anjuna has an eclectic choice of exceptional restaurants,
bars and bakeries serving fascinating dishes, snacks and beverages from
Goa, India and the Globe to cater to special cravings. Exotica and Vegetarian
cuisine is a particular specialty. |

| ANJUNA BEACH, GOA. ACCOMMODATION |
| |
Reflecting its reputation as the favorite place for long-term renters,
Anjuna has some of the best options for good value apartment hotels in
Goa. Laguna Anjuna is a deluxe Goa hotel that offers spacious apartments
in cottages. Don Joao Resorts is a friendly, cheap Goa hotel offers large
rooms with attached kitchenettes & balconies. There are a few cheap
and typically friendly Goa hotels available with good ambiance. |
